ASSIGNMENTS

We have undertaken in-depth strategic reviews of around 100 architectural practices including many leading sector players - working with them to develop new strategies typically affecting their internal management, their product service quality and delivery, their perceived market positioning and their marketing.

Our work with a major architectural practice helped it to achieve a 250% increase in turnover, increase its productivity by 25%, and fundamentally reposition itself in the eyes of its peers and clients through the improved quality of its design work.

We developed the 5 year marketing plan for a national heritage organisation, embracing several of the UK’s major tourist attractions. As a result it perceived its marketing approach in a new light and has gone from strength to strength.

For an international gaming company we researched the UK betting market and the e-market potential, advising on strategies for entry. Our research findings were then used for marketing purposes by the client to great effect.

For a firm of quantity surveyors we developed the brief for a new logo, the messages to be communicated and a new set of promotional materials. The result reinforced the revitalisation of the company and the re-energisation of the workforce.

We have been commissioned by various design agencies to develop strategic brand and identity analyses for their clients. These involved us working on various packaging design projects,  the re-branding of 2 major airline products, and working on the interior design of a leading high street pharmaceutical retailer.

We have developed strategies and business plans for dozens of creative businesses from industrial designers to special effects companies - including facilitating many away days to address core contentious issues +/or deal with issues of underlying strategic intent and direction.

Our strategic review of a key company within a major design, advertising and communications group resulted in a merger between two of its core firms. The new player became a leader in its sector

Our work with a schoolwear supplier led to recommendations for improved customer service, more effective supply chain management, more systematic marketing and better performance monitoring. Along with the benefits these brought to the company we also saved it over £20,000 by developing more cost effective marketing materials.

By anticipating the fallout of the UK property market well in advance of a major recession, we saved our property development client a potential £200M investment loss.

We have carried out corporate identity analyses for organisations ranging from a major construction company to a ferrous metals manufacturer. Each has benefited from the rigour of an analytically driven design brief.

We acted as consultant creative director to a property development company keeping the brand on track, designing initial concept schemes and coordinating with the firm's property professionals

We developed a major proposal for a small UK interior design firm, coaching the team in how best to present it. As a result they won the project to redesign the first class branding of one of the world’s leading airlines.

We were subcontracted to develop design management guidelines for a Japanese transport company seeking to establish a centralised design unit and design strategy.

We assisted a property consultant client with their negotiation and pricing strategy in bidding for a major project. We worked with them to review their objectives, the likely responses of their client, the potential risks and rewards, and the key issues they needed to address. They successfully achieved all that they set out to.

For a leading airline we reviewed the workplace needs of both its IT and engineering teams. We also developed proposals for a new sports and leisure centre. In the process we were able to overcome some longstanding sources of confrontation between management and unions and resolve the logistical need for maintaining existing facilities whilst developing new.

For a Covent Garden fresh produce supplier we developed a marketing strategy that effectively differentiated it from its competitors, helping it to achieve its aim of becoming a supplier to bespoke institutions. Its clientele now includes Buckingham Palace and both Houses of Parliament.

We advised a psychologist and lifestyle guru on building his personal brand, helping him to clarify his direction and objectives and identifying the key steps to be taken. We also advised on and assisted with the visual appearance of his published materials.
