Background

Our client was a successful, profitable 10 year old firm of engineers with a motivated team and an impressive client base.

We were brought in to help the directors ensure continuing success over the next 10 years.


Process

Notwithstanding such success, our investigations highlighted a number of issues.

With no succession plan, some staff had left due to a perceived lack of career progression opportunity.

Although profitable, systems were lacking to identify where more or less money was being made and to help the team effectively deliver projects within the available resources.

Despite high levels of repeat commission, clients reported some common irritants.

Too few brand new clients were in the pipeline.

And the work being won was becoming mundane rather than exciting.


Results

The findings had a powerful positive effect and the directors realised that some major changes were necessary.

We worked with them to clarify future direction. goals and target markets.

A new director was appointed.

A revised organisational structure and new systems were introduced with clear responsibilities and involvement spread across the company.
